Late Roman Intercisa I Helm

The Intercisa I Roman Helmet is constructed from steel with a leather interior. This is the typical light infantry helmet, probably worn by auxiliaries instead of the legions. The original was found in a cache at the Roman fort of this name in Hungary. It seems to have been based on the similar two halves "ridge" helmets of Rome's enemy, the Sassanian Perisan empire. The eye placed on the front of the helmet are reminiscent of the eyebrows on the fronts of the Imperial Gallic Helmets, and appear to be a Roman feature, not seen on Persian helmets.
